(WAFF) - After 15 seasons on television, the hit show "American Idol" will no longer air.

The show will finish out its 15th season in January 2016, according to Rolling Stone.

Host Ryan Seacrest has been with the show since it's first season. He will finish out the run along with judges Jennifer Lopez, Harry Connick Jr., and Keith Urban.

The show has discovered great musical talent, including Carrie Underwood, Kelly Clarkson, and Jennifer Hudson.

Judges like Paula Abdul, Simon Cowell, and Randy Jackson spent several seasons on the show before their exits.

Other musical shows like "The Voice" have taken over and caused a decline in "Idol" ratings.

According to Rolling Stone, Idol stars have combined for a total of 13 Grammys, 7 of which belong to Underwood.

Despite its recent decline, the show will be remembered for several superstars it has discovered as well as several copycat shows, such as The Voice
