Traffic Alert: Winchester Road in Madison County.

You'll see another traffic light to slow you down if you take Winchester Road in Madison County.

Crews will be turning on the new light at County Lake Road at 9 a.m.

The lights went up last week and have been flashing yellow since then.

There have been several violent wrecks at that intersection over the past several years as the northeast end of the county continues to grow.

It's happening between North Parkway and Meridian Street.

The work starts at 8 this morning, and will be going on for about 4 or 5 hours.

Be prepared for delays.

There may be a few pockets of thin morning fog, but skies will be sunny otherwise. We should warm to near 80° by lunchtime with highs topping out in the mid 80s this afternoon. Winds will be out of the southeast at 5-10 mph. We'll see more cloud cover this afternoon compared to this morning, but we will stay rain free.
