Up, up and away... to Krispy Kreme - but be prepared to fight your arch-enemy... other drivers!

Tuesday is National Superhero Day, and Krispy Kreme is saving the day by giving away a dozen free original glazed doughnuts when you buy a dozen.

You'll be the hero for your co-workers and loved ones when you fly in with two dozen rings of goodness.

"The League of Extraordinary Doughnuts" is using its "sweet" superpowers to spread joy around in communities all over the world.

You can also enter a sweepstakes Tuesday to win free doughnuts for life.

You just have to take a photo with your hero, which can be any person, action figure, animal, product, or whatever else you may consider a hero, at a Krispy Kreme shop or with any Krispy Kreme product. Then, use the hashtag #SuperheroSelfie and post the picture to social media. That will enter you for a chance to win as many doughnuts as you could ever want or need.

At the Huntsville Krispy Kreme location, long lines enrobed the store quicker than their glaze enrobes the doughnuts - each and every time the "Hot Now" light went on outside.
