(WAFF) - Whenever storms approach the Tennessee Valley, we want you to stay weather aware.
The easiest way to do so is to have WAFF's news and weather apps with you. Our apps can send alerts when severe weather warnings are issued for your immediate area, and we stream our severe weather coverage, so if power and/or television service goes out where you are, you can still stay up-to-date.
When you see weather damage or other impacts in your area, and can safely do so, we encourage you to send photos and video to email@example.com - our apps include ways for you to instantly submit your material to our newsroom.
Click here for more about our apps - you can also text the word 'APPS' to 44848 to receive instant download links appropriate for your mobile device. (Standard text message and data rates may apply - see your wireless carrier for details; you can text 'STOP' to 44848 at any time to cancel messages.)
Our severe weather coverage is also carried over these radio partners.
For those who don't have a smartphone or have easier access to a desktop computer, WAFF.com also offers an interactive radar. Just like the app version, You Track Storms lets you zoom in down to street level to see where storms are in relation to you.
Of course, our website also offers live streaming of severe weather and other breaking news coverage when situations warrant. You can also watch live newscasts, and catch replays of our newscasts 24 hours a day.
We also recommend you have a weather radio available at all times. These devices also provide you with immediate alerts when warnings are issued in your area. They are available for sale at many grocery stores, pharmacies, and home improvement centers.
Lastly, our Severe Weather Center includes more tips on preparing a severe weather kit, tornado safety precautions and more.
