With the loss, UNA falls to 23-14 overall. Montevallo improved to 19-21.
Montevallo took a 3-0 lead with two runs in the first inning and another in the second. The Lions then had their biggest inning of the season, scoring seven runs on the Falcons in the top of the third. The outburst was highlighted by an RBI-double from Dylan Boston, a two-run double from Kyle Hubbuch, an RBI-single from Kyle Crabtree and a three-run home run from Kyle Conkle.
UNA's pitching staff couldn't hold the lead however, as the Falcons scored in every inning, adding two runs in the third, two in the fourth, eight in the fifth and two in the sixth.
Montevallo out-hit UNA 19 to 10 in the game.
Blake Talley (2-1), the third UNA pitcher in the game, took the loss. He allowed four runs on four hits over one and two-thirds innings.
UNA is scheduled to play a three-game Gulf South Conference series at Mississippi College this weekend and the series is likely to be moved to Sunday (April 19) and Monday (April 20).
