FLORENCE, Ala. -- Despite allowing just four hits and playing error-free in the field, the University of North Alabama dropped its Gulf South Conference series finale to Lee, 3-1.
Lee got a three-run home run from M.J. Brown in the second inning but was held to just two singles the remainder of the game. The only offense the Lions could muster, however, was a solo home run from Kyle Hubbuch in the fourth inning that left the Lions on the short end of a 3-1 deficit.
With the loss, UNA drops to 23-13 overall and 11-12 in the GSC. Lee improved to 23-15-1 overall and 13-12-1 in league play.
UNA starter Kyle Conkle (2-4) pitched six innings and allowed three runs on four hits with two walks and one strikeout. Reliever Jacob Westerhouse pitched three scoreless innings of relief and did not allow a base-runner.
Dylan Calhoun led UNA with two hits, both doubles.
After a 21-5 start, the Lions have lost eight of their last 10 games, including eight of their last nine conference games.
UNA plays at Montevallo Wednesday in a non-conference game and travels to Mississippi College on April 18-19 for a three-game GSC series.
