MADISON COUNTY, AL (WAFF) - Months of hard work finally paid off Saturday for students in North Alabama and across the United States.
NASA held its 15th Annual Student Launch event near the Marshall Space Flight Center at Bragg Farms in Toney.
More than 30 high school, college and university teams launched their rockets and watched them soar.
Middle and high school teams are judged on one set of criteria, and university and college teams on another.
The youngest team came all the way from San Antonio, Texas to compete.
Event organizers said they were impressed by the detail and complexity many of the submissions showed.
The university teams are competing for $50,000 in prize money.
