In what was originally scheduled to be a double-header, the game was called in the seventh inning when UNA's lead reached 10 runs.
North Alabama is now 23-10 overall, while Spring Hill is 21-11.
Spring Hill took an early lead with a run in the first inning but UNA responded with four runs in the bottom of the first and never looked back. The Lions added a single run in the second inning, six in the fourth and one in the seventh.
The Badgers got three hits in the first inning off Stephenson but he held them to just one run. The Lions then got back-to-back singles from Dylan Calhoun and Brett Guzay to open the game and Calhoun scored when Jake Smith reached on an error. One out later, Kyle Hubbuch blasted a three-run home run to give UNA a 4-1 lead.
Heath Wood singled and scored on a safety squeeze by Guzay to make it 5-1 in the second.
In the fourth, Taylor Hayes singled and Kevin Hall reached on an error. Heath Wood then drove in Hayes on a squeeze bunt. Guzay drove in Hall with an RBI-single and later scored on a wild pitch. Jake Smith reached on an error and Dylan Boston followed with a two-run homer to make it 10-1. The last run of the inning came when Hubbuch doubled and later scored when Hall was hit-by-pitch with the bases loaded.
Stephenson left the game in the fifth after allowing a leadoff double to Michael Ball and an RBI single to Ryan Stevens.
With the score 11-1, Hall got a leadoff double in the bottom of the seventh and scored on a RBI-single from Guzay.
Stephenson (3-0), allowed two runs on seven hits over five innings. He walked one and struckout six. Shawn Smirnoff pitched two scoreless innings of relief, allowing one hit and one walk.
Hunter Nowak (2-2) took the loss for Spring Hill. He gave up 10 runs on eight hits in three and two-thirds innings of work.
UNA hosts Lee in a three-game Gulf South Conference series this weekend with a double-header Saturday (Aptil 11) at 2 p.m. and a single game Sunday (April 12) at 1:00.
