LIMESTONE COUNTY, AL (WAFF) - Wednesday morning, officials with the
captured Tony Glover, a fugitive on the run after assaulting an officer. Glover was booked into jail at around 8 a.m.
Officials spent all day Tuesday searching for him, before resuming the search again on Wednesday morning.
A Limestone County deputy was attempting to serve an arrest warrant to Glover when Glover pushed the deputy and attempted to escape into a wooded, swampy area. After a brief struggle, Glover was able to break free from the deputy and move further into the woods.
Search units made contact with Glover several times in the woods, but he was able to get away due to the conditions.
The Limestone County Sheriff's Office and the Ardmore Police Department set up a perimeter around the area and recruited the Limestone Prions K9 unit and Limestone County Sheriff's Officer helicopter to assist in the search throughout the night.
Glover was spotted entering a trailer on Leaning Pine Road by a resident of the area around 7 a.m. Wednesday.
Glover was arrested and is in custody at the Limestone County Jail on four active warrants with no bond.
Additional charges are expected to come Wednesday afternoon.
