Jim is enjoying Spring Break with his family so I'm manning the desk all by myself today and there's plenty to cover on WAFF 48 News Today.
Deputies from two states want to find who dropped a shooting victim in a McDonalds parking lot in Hazel Green over the weekend. Investigators believe the man who was shot multiple times, was shot in Lincoln County and then driven to the McDonalds. Authorities aren't releasing the victim's name at this time but says he did not have life-threatening injuries.
It's a much different case for a motorcycle rider who was injured in a hit and run in Madison County. It happened just before 8 last night, at the intersection of Mckee road and Highway 53 in Madison county. Just after 10 though, officials said they had arrested a suspect in connection with the investigation. That suspect's name has not been released at this time.
Remember to cover your ears, for the next 3 weeks you'll probably hear some loud booms coming from Redstone Arsenal. Officials say it's just part of routine operations but because of a variety of weather conditions the booms could be louder than usual. A traffic alert out of Athens for you this morning, Forrest Street from Chandler Street to the west entrance of Hereford Street will be closed for repairs for the rest of the week.
