New developments tonight on the Charter Schools bill. Tonight, the state senate approved the legislation, which passed by a vote of 22 to 12. The bill would allow the establishment of up to 10 "startup" charter schools in the state each year and unlimited conversions of existing schools to charter status. The bill now heads to the House.
