HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) - This is an issue that surfaced Friday in the midst of all that icy weather in Huntsville.
It's the traffic light at the corner of Governors Drive and Triana Boulevard.
A driver posted, saying that the light facing Triana to the north doesn't stay green long enough, that only one or two cars get through before it turns red.
City traffic engineers responded that time might have been added to Governors last week to keep traffic moving. At the time, the I-565 overpasses were closed, and Governors Drive picked up a lot of that overflow.
We checked it out Monday and found that, at times, the light changed quickly. Cars were rushing up on the bumper of the car in front of them just to make it through the light.
But at other times, the cycle was normal.
The traffic engineers say they'll check the cycle again to see if it needs adjusting.
And you may have noticed more potholes popping up with all the recent winter weather. The snow and ice and now all of the rain is preventing crews from going out and filling them.
But as soon as it dries out a little, expect to see workers picking up where they left off, patching holes across the city.
In the meantime, let us know if you've found some new potholes.
