HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) - One person was killed in a wreck around 6 p.m. Sunday evening.
It happened near the intersection of Highway 53 and Stringfield Road in Huntsville. Riccardo Haley, 47, from Harvest, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to officials.
Officials said there was a collision between a truck and a sedan.
The truck driver was ejected from the vehicle and was confirmed dead at the scene.
Witness Christina Stewart said she ran to the scene to find one young man laying in the street, crying for his father. She saw his younger brother trapped inside the truck, moments before crews pulled him from the wreckage.
"As a mother, it wrenches your heart," she said.
The two juveniles were taken to the hospital by ambulance with life-threatening injuries.
As the young man she first saw as she arrived was carried into the ambulance, Stewart said she left him with parting words of comfort.
"I told him, 'They are going to take care of you, sweetie,'" she said, "then I just went back inside my car and cried because it just broke my heart."
The driver of the sedan was also taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.
The Huntsville Traffic Homicide Unit is continuing the investigation.
