Good Icy, Soggy Monday morning to you! Margo Gray here.
Mother Nature is starting this week off with another rough morning, causing most school systems in the area to delay opening or close. Arab, Albertville, Boaz, Guntersville and Marshall County are closed today. Several others, including Huntsville, Athens, Madison County, Madison City and Limestone County are on 2 or 3 hour delays.
We'll have team coverage from the metro area to the Shoals at the top of the 5:00 & 6:00 a.m. shows and every half hour on road conditions.
Firefighters are stumped this morning on figuring what caused a fire at the Regency West apartment complex on Carridale Road in Decatur. It broke out just before midnight. Thankfully, no one was injured, but several apartments were gutted. Another fire broke out in November at that same building.
The investigation that just won't end took another turn last night. My sources confirm, James Lawhorne, a fugitive from justice, is back in custody after being on the run for more than a month. He's the same man charged with 24 counts of fraud in connection with a failed valley tomato business, Cypress Creek Organic Farms. A bail bondsman caught up with him in Florida. I'm working to get more details on what he was doing there.
Side note: Did you catch the Oscars last night? I went to sleep before the big show, but I hear "Birdman" won big.
See you at 4:30, 5, & 6 this morning!
