Police: arrest made in Melody Circle shooting

HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) - The Huntsville Police Department's Major Crimes Unit have made an arrest in the Melody Circle shooting that took place Wednesday night.

Brenda Ford, 51, was arrested Thursday and charged with the murder of Tamika Ragland, 34.

Investigators say that the incident began at another location where Ford and Ragland were involved in an altercation.

Both women are said to have driven to Melody Circle in separate cars. They both exited their vehicles on Melody Circle, where Ford shot Ragland.

Investigators confirm that Ragland attempted to drive away, but her car ran into a nearby yard.

Ford is being held in the Metro Jail and is awaiting bond.
