MADISON COUNTY, AL (WAFF) - According to the Madison County Sheriff's Office, three people have been arrested in connection with the fatal Plainview Drive shooting that took place Monday night.

Deputies arrived at a home on the 100 block of Plainview Drive in Owens Cross Roads where they found Richard Taylor dead from a gunshot wound.

During an investigation, Audra Anderson Ikard, Brandy Seagroves and Jeremy Jones were developed as the main suspects.

Ikard and Seagroves were located Monday and brought in for questioning. Jones was located Tuesday and questioned in the murder as well.

According to officials, all three were placed under arrest and charged with burglary 2nd degree, robbery 2nd degree and murder.

Investigators said Taylor, Ikard and Seagroves broke into the home and were confronted by the homeowner, who shot and killed Taylor in self-defense.

They are being held in the Madison County Detention Facility on a $135,000 bond each.

Jones also has additions charges of theft of property 2nd degree with a $2,500 bond for a separate incident.

Investigators said before breaking in, one of the women rang the doorbell and asked to use the homeowner's phone.

"If you don't know a person at your front door, do not let them in," said Sergeant Brian Chaffin. "If you do not know that person, don't let them in the house; if you feel threatened in any way, please dial 911.

"This was a serious incident," Chaffin added. "We're glad no one else was injured, the homeowner was not injured. But this is a very serious incident and it's becoming too common."

Investigators say they do not believe this was a random crime and that the four invaders were somehow connected to the homeowner.
