Celebrating MLK Day Today In The Valley

There are several events celebrating Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day that you can check out today. One of the earliest ones, a prayer breakfast, starts at 8:00 a.m. at the Von Braun Center. Our Muriel Bailey will run down some of the other events in the valley. Look for her at the top of each half hour on WAFF 48 News Today.

Down in Montgomery, it's swearing in day for Governor Bentley. He'll take the oath of office for the second time, starting around 9:00 a.m.

I grew up in Delaware, so every story that comes out of there catches my attention. Apparently, yesterday, someone fired a gun toward Vice President Joe Biden's house.

Tracie Potts has more on that for us at 5:05.

Did you see the end of the Packers/Seahawks game? That was crazy.

Seattle's headed back to the Super Bowl, and we'll show you how psyched the "12th man" is at 5:43. (The Super Bowl's only 13 days away.)

And it looks like the weather's going to be really nice today. Meteorologist David Ernst is thinking low 60s. Check out his Weather On The Tens.

And join us for WAFF 48 News Today. I have a new companion, starting this morning. Now, you have to watch! I'll see you on TV!
