HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -

Have you ever heard of something called a "Flim-Flam"?

It's like a magic trick, where deception, sleight of hand and and confusion are used to steal money.

Our thief is seen on surveillance video at the checkout counter at the Kroger on University Drive Nov. 26.

He pays for an item with a $100 bill.

But then police say the crook then told the cashier he meant to pay with a $10 bill.

And the scam, known as a flim-flam, was on.

The crook then confused the cashier several more times with this monetary shell game, eventually walking out with over $600.

In the surveillance video, you can see a long line at the checkout, including a man right behind this crook.

According to police, that second man is an accomplice, who grumbled and complained about the transaction taking too long, adding to the confusion.

In fact, you can see the second guy preparing to pay for an item.

But he tells the cashier he'll "be right back" to complete the transaction.

He never came back.

Instead, he left with his partner-in crime, walking out with over $600 of stolen money.

Do you know who either of these two thieves might be?

If you do, it's not nearly as confusing as this deceptive crime.
