Fayetteville workers get bad news to start new year

Good Tuesday evening, everyone - here's what we're working on for WAFF 48 News at 10.

A major employer in Lincoln County Tennessee announced plans to move its operations to Texas. Goodman Operations in Fayetteville will close its doors by 2017. Coming up, Sarah Navoy speaks with company representatives and Fayetteville's mayor about how this move will affect the some 1,500 workers at this facility.

We will see single-digit temperatures later this week. And while it's important to prepare your home for the frigid temperatures, it is also important to make sure your car is in good order to withstand the cold as well. Jack Madison will have some tips to winterize your car and keep you rolling through this cold snap.

We have already received word from several school systems in North Alabama that plan to delay the opening of school on Thursday because of the arctic conditions, including Huntsville and Guntersville city districts.
