Bracing For This Week's Cold

Bracing For This Week's Cold

It's almost like studying for that big test. You know it's coming, and yet there isn't a whole lot you can do about it. That's about the way I feel about this extreme cold headed our way. It's not too bad out there this morning. It was 27 degrees when I left the house just before 3:00.

But look at that forecast above again. That says 8 degrees Thursday morning, and that doesn't include the wind chill, right? Oh, no! Meteorologist David Ernst has a closer look at just how frigid it's going to feel this time tomorrow and Thursday. Look for him live every ten minutes on WAFF 48 News Today.

With all that cold in mind, do you know how to protect your pipes from bursting? I know, sort of. Muriel Bailey has a refresher for us at 5:00 and 6:00 a.m. And here's a reminder about how to stay safe with your heating equipment.

SpaceX is making another run to the ISS today, but it's the return that's the big story. The first stage will aim for a vertical test landing on a barge in the Atlantic. How cool is that?

And more on space. In this case, it's Space Camp. They're hiring counselors today at job fair from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Tim Hall from the Space and Rocket Center's going to join us at 6:35 with everything you need to know about that.

I'm off to the set to deliver a little bit about everything else. I'll see you on TV, and make sure you have a great Tuesday!
