Bracing For This Week's Cold

It's almost like studying for that big test. You know it's coming, and yet there isn't a whole lot you can do about it. That's about the way I feel about this extreme cold headed our way. It's not too bad out there this morning. It was 27 degrees when I left the house just before 3:00.

But look at that forecast above again. That says 8 degrees Thursday morning, and that doesn't include the wind chill, right? Oh, no! Meteorologist David Ernst has a closer look at just how frigid it's going to feel this time tomorrow and Thursday. Look for him live every ten minutes on WAFF 48 News Today. http://bit.ly/GSwBfq

With all that cold in mind, do you know how to protect your pipes from bursting? I know, sort of. Muriel Bailey has a refresher for us at 5:00 and 6:00 a.m. And here's a reminder about how to stay safe with your heating equipment. http://bit.ly/1AkwVTV

SpaceX is making another run to the ISS today, but it's the return that's the big story. The first stage will aim for a vertical test landing on a barge in the Atlantic. How cool is that? http://bit.ly/14rFoaS

And more on space. In this case, it's Space Camp. They're hiring counselors today at job fair from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Tim Hall from the Space and Rocket Center's going to join us at 6:35 with everything you need to know about that.

I'm off to the set to deliver a little bit about everything else. I'll see you on TV, and make sure you have a great Tuesday!
