COLBERT COUNTY, AL (WAFF) - The Casa Mexicana in Sheffield scored an 81 with the Colbert County Health Department. The health inspector reported there were four critical violations during the inspection.

In their report, the inspector wrote that they witnessed an employee touching raw food, then touching ready-to-eat food. The kitchen worker had gloves on, and they did wash their hands, but they never took the gloves off during the entire process.

The inspector also reported that they saw a roach crawling on a wall next to a container of chips. Casa Mexicana lost points because dirty knives were hanging on a knife rack on the kitchen wall. The inspector also reported cheese dip was sitting out at 51 degrees below the temperature required to prevent bacterial growth in holt-holding food.
