Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid and Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell are going to be busy today, and perhaps the next few days, working on the government budget. http://bit.ly/1wmmNpE  There's a lot of talk about what they'll be debating. Here's a look at what's in it http://bit.ly/1ApuHPx The House passed it last night. This morning, we'll take you to Washington where Tracie Potts is sifting through all the details. She joins us at 5:05 a.m.

The FDA approved UAB's plan to study CBD oil. That's the marijuana-derived oil that may help treat patients with seizures. We're looking into a civil lawsuit stemming from the Discovery Middle School shooting in 2010. It's one filed by Todd Brown's parents, and it's back in court today. Just after 5:00 and 6:00, Muriel bailey will update you on what we can expect there today.

Tomorrow's Heisman Trophy Day. Alabama wide receiver Amari Cooper technically has a chance. He's one of the finalists, though Oregon quarterback Marcus Mariota appears to be a lock. Last night, he won the Walter Camp, Davey O'Brien and Maxwell Awards. Check out their credentials here http://bit.ly/12V0KvA and you decide.

And Mother Nature's decided we needed another chilly morning, but Meteorologist David Ernst is looking at the possibility we might warm up a little for the weekend (yes, please). Check out his Weather On The Tens. http://bit.ly/GSwBfq
