SAN DIEGO, CA (WAFF) - The Orion spacecraft is on its way back to solid ground after its historic one-day launch test and splashdown.
The USS Anchorage recovered Orion in the Pacific Ocean Friday.
The ship will deliver the spacecraft to Naval Base San Diego Monday.
Orion completed its first robotic, unmanned test flight Friday.
It orbited the earth twice before splashing down in the ocean about 4.5 hours later.
