A Decatur work release inmate who escaped is now in custody.
According to Athens Police, the business where Blake Mitchell Turner worked noticed one of their work vans stolen Thursday morning.
State troopers located the van on I 65, just north of the Tennessee river Bridge.
Authorities say that a minor wreck was reported in West Point that involved a green jeep.
The vehicle did not stop, leading police on a chase to the Cullman Walmart.
Authorities say Turner got out of the jeep and ran into Walmart. He ran through the store, out the other side and down the street.
Turner was arrested minutes later in a parking lot a block away from the Walmart and is now on the way to the Limestone County Correctional Facility.
According to authorities, they are unsure how Turner obtained the vehicle. They are working to determine if it was stolen, or if Turner had help.
At least one Cullman police car was damaged during the chase. It is unclear what additional charges Turner may face as a result of the incident.
Over the last decade, 29-year-old Turner's record shows he pleaded guilty to breaking and entering a vehicle, possession of a controlled substance, hunting from a vehicle, burglary and several DUIs. Last October, he pleaded guilty to an assault charge.
