HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -

A long line of Black Friday bargain hunters briefly caused backups along northbound Memorial Parkway in Huntsville Wednesday night.

The line starts at the former Huntsville Times facility along the parkway. Since the newspaper's move from this facility to its new Downtown location, staff have continued to sell the Black Friday edition from both locations.

The newspaper was expected to begin distributing their special edition including major department stores' Black Friday ads at 7 p.m.

However, a 'Times' representative said a delay in getting the papers from the printing press in Birmingham to Huntsville resulted in a late start time for the paper sale.

The paper went on sale at both the old facility and the Downtown 'Times' headquarters from 9 to 11 p.m.

Huntsville police re-routed traffic in order to ease the initial congestion.
