HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -

Huntsville police closed a portion of the southbound lanes of Memorial Parkway due to a wreck Sunday evening.

It happened at the intersection of Memorial Parkway and Hobbs Road just after 6:30 p.m.

Officials closed an area of the parkway between Redstone Road and Hobbs Road for more than 30 minutes as they worked to clear the scene. Crews continued diverting traffic around the Hobbs Road intersection after re-opening the main lanes.

Officials said two cars were involved in the wreck. One person was transported to the hospital for a non-life-threatening injury.

An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
