KILLEN, AL (WAFF) - Highway 72 in Lauderdale County was closed Sunday afternoon while crews attended the scene of a wreck.

One person was injured following the wreck, which happened before 2:30 p.m., a few miles east of Brooks High School.

Officials said two SUVs were involved, both traveling west when one collided into the other.

One SUV with an attached trailer spun off the road into a 10-foot ditch. The driver was cut out of the wreckage and transported to Huntsville Hospital by medical helicopter.
