GURLEY, AL (WAFF) -

A wreck on Hwy. 72 in Gurley claimed the life of 63-year-old Doris Hambrick Saturday evening. The wreck had eastbound and westbound traffic down to one lane.

HEMSI, Madison County Sheriffs, Gurley police, and Gurley fire response were at the scene.

Officials said two cars are involved in the accident. Two women driving in a white vehicle were transported to the hospital in serious condition. One of the women suffered life threatening injuries.

Christina Hastings was a witness at the scene.

"We heard a bang inside the house so we came out and there was a car wreck up there with the front end knocked off." said Hastings. "It happens all the time, you see them go off in the ditches, we've seen them flipped in the street."
