Students charged in Franklin Co. school threats

Good morning!

Here's what we're working on in the WAFF 48 newsroom:

Huntsville police are looking for a person they say shot a teenager in the leg.

The teen told police he was walking with a friend on Lincoya Drive yesterday, and that's when a black Ford Explorer and a red Nissan Altima drove past him, and someone shot him.  He couldn't tell which car the shot came from.

He was taken to Huntsville Hospital, but his injuries are not serious.

Also, two Franklin County students are facing charges for posting threats on the social media app, Yik Yak.

Investigators say one of the students made a threat against Russellville High School, the other made a threat against Tharptown High School. Police evacuated both schools yesterday as a precaution.

We'll have these stories and more, plus a look at your weekend forecast.

Have a wonderful day!
