NEW HOPE, AL (WAFF) - A wreck involving a car and a combine shut down the southbound lanes of Highway 431 Sunday evening.
It happened around 6 p.m. on the highway in New Hope.
Police said the car went across the median from the southbound to the northbound lanes after impact with the combine.
The driver of the car was bruised, but was not transported to the hospital. The driver of the combine was not seriously injured.
Officials said the combine's safety lights were on at the time of the crash.
New Hope fire and police and Hebron fire crews and state troopers were on the scene.
Southbound lanes of 431 at New Hope were closed as crews worked to remove the combine.
An investigation into the wreck is ongoing.
