COLBERT COUNTY, AL (WAFF) - Casa Mexicana Restaurant in Muscle Shoals scored an 82 with the Colbert County Health Department. The inspector reported seeing an employee who didn't wash their hands before putting on gloves, then handling lettuce. The inspector also reported finding a pan of shrimp sitting out at 64 degrees. That's 23 degrees above the temperature required to prevent bacterial growth in cold-holding food,

An 80 for Donna's Barn and Cafe in Elkmont. The health inspector reported there was no hot water at sink in the food prep area, which led to hands not being properly washed. Donna's also lost points because of potato salad that was 12 degrees above the required cold-holding temperature, and raw chicken that was seven degrees too warm. The management said the sink problem was fixed right away, and they're looking forward to their reinspection.

The McDonald's in Albertville scored an 84. The health inspector reported they needed to clean the ice machine.

The Quik Mart on Woodward Avenue in Muscle Shoals scored an 84. They lost points because some food in the hot-holding unit wasn't hot enough, with broccoli and cheese 27 degrees below the required temperature, and mashed potatoes that were 17 degrees off.

Rancho Viejo in Muscle Shoals got off of the Colbert County Health Department reinspection schedule by scoring a 91, and they followed that up with a 92 during their next inspection.
