LAUDERDALE COUNTY, AL (WAFF) - So far, the government confirms 24 people have died because of GM's defective ignition switch.

One of the victims was Aubrey Williams from Lauderdale County.

She died when she crashed her 2006 Chevy Colbalt into a log truck in December.

Williams' father, Steve Smith, said, "She was always a safe driver, and you would never think she would take her eye off the road."

Her family is one of the hundreds suing General Motors.
