Former teacher's aide to be sentenced; Troopers looking for deadly hit and run driver

I think it's safe to say fall is here! Just check out the snap shot from our hour-by-hour forecast from our WAFF 48 Weather App. Cooler temperatures are in the air, but we have plenty of sunshine. Could all that change in time for the weekend? WAFF 48 Meteorologist David Ernst has the answer in your "Weather on the Tens."

This morning, Alabama State Troopers are still looking for the driver who hit and killed a 71 year old woman in Lauderdale County. Her body was found about 100 yards away from her home. More on the story at 5:34.

Our Muriel Bailey (Twitter: @MurielWAFF) is looking ahead to the sentencing of Michael Horton. He's the former teacher's aide who was convicted of sodomy. At 6:02, Muriel breaks down just how much time he faces.

And Huntsville Mayor Tommy Battle wants you to get to stepping. We've got the challenge that he's issued to citizens at 6:52.

I'm filling in for Tiani Jones this morning and I'm ready to roll! Grab that cup of coffee and let's get this day started. See you in 30 minutes!
