Police set up perimeter on UA campus following gun violence threat

 Good Morning!

Here's what we're working on in the WAFF 48 newsroom:

New information out of The University of Alabama.  They say police have searched a dormitory after receiving anonymous emailed threats of gun violence, but a thorough search found no weapons or people not authorized to be there.

In a statement on its website, the University said the information provided to police about the situation at Tutwiler Hall was "based on rumors and social media posts and not actual witness accounts." http://bit.ly/1uXKS50

Here in the Valley, we're following up on a robbery at Alabama A&M University where students are concerned about their safety.

The University says a student was hurt on Saturday when he was approached by 3 men who punched him and then took his money.  It took the school three hours to notify students about the robbery.  This morning, we're following up with the University as to why they waited three hours.

And finally, David Ernst will have your workweek forecast, which includes some mild temperatures and a lot of sunshine.

Have a wonderful day!
