DEKALB COUNTY, AL (WAFF) - Two students were taken into custody after authorities say they smoked spice, or synthetic marijuana, at Crossville High School.
Investigators say a 15-year-old brought spice to school on Friday and smoked it with a 16-year-old. The 16-year-old had a medical reaction to the spice and went to the School Resource Officer.
The student was taken by ambulance to Marshall Medical Center South where he was treated and released.
The SRO also contacted the Drug Task Force and an investigation is ongoing.
The 15-year-old was charged with unlawful distribution of a controlled substance and tampering with evidence. The 16-year-old was charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance and public intoxication. Both were transported to the Juvenile Probation Office in Fort Payne.
