Arrest made in Florence credit union robbery

FLORENCE, AL (WAFF) -

Law enforcement officials made an arrest in the case of a Florence credit union robbery.

Florence police officers arrested Kevin Lavon Armstead Thursday afternoon in connection with the Monday robbery at the Alabama Central Credit Union.

He is also charged with the theft of an automobile from Cherry Hill Homes.

Florence police, the State Bureau of Investigations Task Force, and the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences combined forces in the investigation.
