DEKALB COUNTY, AL (WAFF) - A suspect has been charged with capital murder in the death of 33-year-old Daniel Thomas Fuller.
DeKalb County Sheriff Jimmy Harris said Fuller was reported missing on Aug. 12. Fuller's body was found in a wooded area near the Mule Day campground on Sunday. After an autopsy, his death was ruled a homicide.
Valley Head resident, 32-year-old Daniel Adam Beaty, has been charged with capital murder in the case. Beaty has been in jail since mid-August on unrelated charges. He will have no bond for the capital murder charge.
Harris said it was a brutal murder and they are glad to have the suspect in custody. He said Beaty faces the capital murder charge because some of Fuller's personal property had been taken and sold after his death.
According to Harris, Beaty has been cooperative. The suspect told the judge he killed Fuller in self defense.
