Cyclist in serious condition after being hit by car

LAUDERDALE COUNTY, AL (WAFF) -

A man remains hospitalized after a Monday morning crash that left a fellow bicyclist dead.

Keith Green and Mannon Rogers were riding on Highway 207 in Lauderdale County in support of their friend, Melissa Moore, who was hit by a car while cycling one year ago, less than two miles from where the crash involving Green and Rogers happened.

Green was taken by ground ambulance and was pronounced dead. Rogers was taken by air ambulance to Huntsville Hospital in critical condition. Officials upgraded his condition to serious on Tuesday.

An emergency management technician at the scene said a third cyclist was riding with the other two and was able to walk away because the two men were riding behind her.

State troopers are still investigating the crash. They do not believe the driver was drinking or speeding.
