ATLANTA (CBS46) -

A pregnant Decatur woman, Briana Brooks, was pronounced dead on Aug. 28, after she was shot in the head during a kidnapping.

Brooks and her fiancé, Jeronta Brown, were both abducted on Saturday, Aug. 23. The couple was found later in northwest Atlanta.

Brown was pronounced dead at the scene and Brooks was transported to Grady Memorial Hospital. She was on life support for several days.

"They cowards. They are hateful. They ain't got no love for nobody," Calvin Reddick, Brown's father said. "They can run but they can't hide from the good Lord."

"They (kidnappers) came here and they knocked on the door," said Kawana Brown, Jeronta Brown's mother.

Kawana Brown said two men with masks knocked on the door of their Decatur home and identified themselves as the FBI.

Jeronta Brown, his fiancée, his sister and the couple's child arrived at the same time as the kidnappers.

"No, I don't know who they (kidnappers) were. I don't know anything about them," said Kawana Brown.

Police said the kidnappers put the couple into handcuffs and took them away. Jeronta Brown's sister was able to run away with the couple's young daughter.

The kidnappers later demanded the family pay $150,000 in ransom money. The amount was later lowered to $10,000.

Later that day, police found the couple in northwest Atlanta. Jeronta Brown had been killed, and his fiancée was severely injured.

Brooks was taken to a hospital where she gave birth to a baby prematurely.

Family members said Brooks was seven months pregnant. Reddick said the baby is doing well and continues to recover. He said he and his wife will now raise their grandchild as if it is their own.

The family is now offering a $15,000 reward for information leading to conviction(s). If you have information which may assist investigators in this case, you are asked to call Crime Stoppers at 404-577-TIPS.
