Alabama holds off West Virginia 33-23

Alabama Crimson Tide fans didn't know who the Quarterback would be heading into the final days before the Tide's game with West Virginia. When the Tide's offense took the field inside the Georgia Dome Saturday, fifth year senior Blake Sims was the man under center. He would also finish the game under center as the Tide held off a tough  Mountaineers team 33-23.

Alabama took a 17-10 lead in the second quarter before the Mountaineers Mario Alford would scamper 100 yards on a kickoff return to tie it at 17. The Tide's Adam Griffith would kick a 41 yard field goal to give Alabama a 20-17 lead at the half. The running game proved to be too much for the Mountaineers defense, Derrick Henry rushed for 113 yards and 1 TD, with TJ Yeldon adding 126 yards and 2 TD's. As for Blake Sims, a solid first outing, 250 yards and an Interception.

Alabama will face Florida Atlantic next Saturday in their home opener at Bryant Denny Stadium.
