HANCEVILLE, AL (WBRC) -

Hanceville's city hall and post office have been evacuated due to a bomb threat on Wednesday morning.

The threat was called in to the city clerk, according to Hancville mayor Kenneth Nail.

The caller asked if the mayor was still Kenneth Nail and asked about what time the mail ran. The caller then said when the mail came, they would be "all over the internet."

Inmates from the Hanceville city jail have been moved to Cullman County jail as a precaution.

At this time, mail services have been stopped in Hanceville.

Mayor Nail says if there is an emergency in the city and residents call 911, they will be transferred to a Cullman County official.

Officials from the FBI and a bomb squad are on their way to Hanceville to investigate.
