HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) - A former boy scout volunteer accused of running an international child porn ring out of Huntsville will now face a federal court in October.

James McCullars' trial is rescheduled for October 27 in Indiana. It was delayed once before finally being set.

McCullars is facing charges for engaging in a child exploitation enterprise and conspiring to distribute and receive child pornography around the country and overseas.

The original complaint against McCullars was filed in the Souther District of Indiana.

Federal agents say members of his ring used the internet and U.S. Mail to discuss sexual interest in young boys and trade "substantial volumes" of child pornography.

Officials with the University of Alabama in Huntsville also confirmed McCullars was Director of Systems and Operations, Computer and Network Services at the college until 2009. Federal agents state McCullars volunteered with Boy Scouts of America at various events, including the National Jamboree.

A spokesperson for Boy Scouts of America said they revoked his membership as soon as they heard about the situation.

New evidence was found a few weeks ago that planned to introduce a victim who was 12 years old at the time of the alleged abuse to show McCullars had motive and had planned to exploit children on the web.

Prosecutors also plan to introduce evidence to prove McCullars planned to exploit children on the web.
