Judge rejects Stand Your Ground in murder case

Good Morning!

Here's what we're working on in the WAFF newsroom:

A teenager is in jail this morning, accused of killing a DeKalb County woman.

Cherokee County Deputies arrested 17 year old Riley Joseph Henderson last Wednesday. He's charged with capital murder.  Investigators say he killed 20 year old Sarah Ortiz.

A fisherman found Ortiz's body floating in Weiss Lake last month.  Her family reported her missing a couple of days before her body was found.

Today, the murder trial for a Limestone County man is set to begin.

Kenny Adams is accused of stabbing his cousin Yancy Foster back in 2012.  Police say the stabbing was during a fight over DVDs, but, Adams says it was self defense.

A judge rejected his use of the Stand Your Ground law on Friday.

These are just a few of the stories we're working on.  Stop in and join us before heading out for your day.
