KILLEN, AL (WAFF) - Women in the Shoals were feeling the love Friday as the Pink Heals Tour made a stop in Killen.

There were pink fire trucks, Killen fire trucks, and a ton of community supporters spreading the love and the power of pink!

This is the second year Killen Fire and Rescue has hosted the Pink Heals Tour.

Their mission is to inspire women in all walks of life, especially those in time of need. There is no focus on any one specific disease or cause.

The group, decked out in pink, travels to homes greeting women and their families sharing encouraging words of love and support.

Deb Putman of Killen Fire and Rescue said it's important to celebrate women and the battles they've had.

"We would not be here on this earth if it wasn't for women so why not celebrate them and honor them and support them for everything that they've been through in any disease whether it be cancer, diabetes, muscular dystrophy, anything," Putman said.  "We want to support the women in the Shoals area."

All the money raised during the tour stays in the Shoals community.
