Decatur utilities contract crews from Gulf Coast Underground will be fixing manholes along Sixth Avenue North East (hwy. 31) starting Sunday night. 

The following roads will be closed due to the work:

- The passing left-hand lane of southbound Sixth Ave. NE will be closed between Church St. NE and Vine St. NE. on Sunday at 7:00 p.m. though 6:00 a.m. Monday. Traffic will be merged into the right-hand lane.

- The right-hand lane of southbound Sixth Ave. NE will be closed between Church St. NE and Vine St. NE on Monday at 7:00 p.m. through 6:00 a.m. Tuesday. Traffic will be merged into the right-hand lane. 

Use caution while driving through these areas and be on the lookout for traffic control. 

Starting on August 25 crews will begin working on a water main project at the intersection of Bank St. NE and Church St. NE. The intersection will be closed closed to through traffic until 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 27. 

Traffic will be redirected to Canal St. NE, Vine St. NE and Lafayette St. NE.
