MORGAN COUNTY, AL (WAFF) - Morgan County Drug Task Force Agents executed a search warrant Tuesday in Hartselle after receiving a tip that suspects were cooking methamphetamine at a residence on Cardinal Road. After a week long investigation, agents identified William Chad Lones, 35, and Amanda Leanna Erwin, 31, both from Huntsville as the suspects. Agents also discovered that Erwin was convicted of Unlawful Manufacturing of a Controlled Substance back in July.

When agents conducted the search, they discovered Erwin in a back bedroom of the residence, where they found a one-pot meth lab in the bathroom and a burnt meth lab under the bed. Agents also followed Lones from the residence and conducted a traffic stop on him. Lones was brought back to the residence after the lab was discovered.

Upon further investigation, agents found lye, salt, Coleman Fuel, cut open lithium batteries, HCL gas generator, baggies that contained meth residue, and coffee filters. Agents also found multiple syringes scattered throughout the residence.

Lones and Erwin were placed under arrest for Unlawful Manufacturing of a Controlled Substance 1st and Unlawful Possession of Felony Drug Paraphernalia.

Somerville VFD were called to decontaminate the suspects. During the decontamination process, Erwin took off running. Deputies chased her several yards before using a stun-gun on her to bringing her under control, adding a felony of Escape 3rd Degree to her charge.

Lones is being held on a $252,500 bond and Erwin is being held on bail for $302,500 in the Morgan County Jail.
