ETOWAH COUNTY, AL (WAFF) -

A family in the Mountainboro community of Etowah County located just outside the city of Boaz is without their home and business.

Po' Boy's Used Cars is now destroyed after fire swept through the business Monday night.

The family home was located in the upstairs portion of the building.

Family members say the business was started fourteen years ago.

Tuesday morning, smoke still poured from the business after firefighters worked for four hours to get it out.

Inside the garage of the building, owners said there were half a dozen vintage cars as well as some thirty motorcycles, mostly Harley Davidsons.

Family members said it started around 9 p.m., when one family member went to check on some clothes that were in the dryer.

"She screamed for my brother Rodney," said daughter, Stormy Williams. "It was already on fire and there was smoke in the laundry room. They tried to put it out and they couldn't, so my brother yelled for everybody to get out of the house. By the time my daddy made it to the bottom of the steps, the whole top of the house was engulfed in flames."

The state fire marshal's office is investigating the cause.
