A robbery attempt in North Huntsville failed when the residents threatened to call police.

Officers received a call at around 2 p.m. near Jonathan Drive.

Investigators said that the residents heard a knock on the door. After opening, a woman later identified as Greta Crutcher stood with gun pointing at them, demanding drugs.

They then informed Crutcher that they did not have anything and they were calling the police. Crutcher fled the scene on foot toward the area of Glenn Park. Officers intercepted the suspect near Elizabeth Street and took her into custody.

Crutcher was then transported to the South Precinct for an interview, and later to the Metro Jail. She was charged with first-degree robbery. No injuries were reported during the incident.
