HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) - Huntsville police are investigating a shooting at an apartment complex.

It happened around 2 p.m. at the Creek Bend Terrace Apartments on Venona Avenue.

One person was wounded in the shooting. Neighbors said they heard multiple shots go off, then saw a man collapse in front of one of the doors.

"I came from my house and he was down here at my neighbors'," said Tasha Matthews, the victim's aunt. "They told us to step back - I don't know who shot him...  all I know, my nephew is going to be alright."

Officials said the victim is expected to survive. Family members said he was shot in the leg and was undergoing surgery Sunday evening. They said the man does not live at the complex.

The victim told police he did not see the person who shot him.

No arrests have been made in the case. Police are still investigating.
